Swarovski Crystal World

Swarovski Crystal World

This museum is so beautiful!! If you ever decide to go to Innsbruck, Austria then definitely go check this place out! I was traveling in lower Germany when I decided to cross the border into Austria and stumbled upon this museum. Located just outside the main city of Innsbruck, this museum features art installations and crystals that are truly one of a kind.

Initially built in 1995 to celebrate 100 years of Swarovski, the museum inside features crystal-based art exhibits that are changed throughout the year. The price of admission is roughly 19 euros and it takes about 1hour and a half to 2 hours to go through the whole museum.

The outside of the museum features a large giant head, which is a more permanent structure at the museum. There is also a “cloud forest” which at certain times throughout the year they do light shows that are stunning.

Taking pictures of the exhibits inside are extremely difficult. Between the different levels of lighting and the general complexities of capturing crystals on camera, seeing it in person is the best way to go. Some of the interactions are also interactive, which can’t truly be captured unless you’re there. Regardless, I’ve included some of the ones I was able to capture and hope you’re able to make it there yourself one day! Keep in mind that each of these exhibits has crystals in them, though it may not always be obvious due to the camera shots.

Store

If you end up wanting to visit the store instead, then you can access that complimentary. Swarovski has some awe-inspiring pieces in there that are a fortune, but I would say that majority of the store is relatively on lower end for pricing and is a great place to pick up a gift for loved ones that is unique from your typical tourist chachkies!
